Soon we’re introducing a new licensing and versioning model for Royal TS, Royal TSX, Royal Server, and the upcoming Royal Connect product line.
The goal is simple: make licensing easier to understand, easier to manage, and better suited for everyone from individual professionals to large organizations.
We’re keeping perpetual licenses and are not switching to subscription-based licensing: you can continue using the versions you’re entitled to, even after maintenance expires.
At the same time, we’re simplifying how licenses are structured and moving to year-based version numbers.
There are three main changes:
Going forward, our paid products will be available in two main license categories.
The Desktop license covers our desktop products across all supported desktop platforms.
This includes:
Royal Connect Desktop is our new cross-platform Integrated Management Environment, built on Avalonia UI and designed for Windows, macOS, and Linux, including Ubuntu, Fedora, and Debian.
The new Desktop license replaces the previous separate Royal TS, Royal TSX, and Royal TS/X Bundle licenses.
The Server license covers our server products across all supported server platforms.

Royal Connect Server is also being rewritten for broader platform support and easier deployment. On macOS and Linux, it will also support running as a Docker container.
If you currently own a license with active maintenance that includes both desktop and server functionality, it will automatically be migrated into two separate licenses:

Each license category is available in several license types, depending on how and where the software is used.

If your maintenance expires, your software does not stop working.
You can continue using the latest version that was released during your active maintenance period indefinitely.
However, versions released after your maintenance expiration date require an active maintenance period, a maintenance extension, or a new license.
Maintenance extensions will continue to be offered at 50% of the current list price.
We’ll make these available through email and in-app notifications.
We’re also simplifying version numbers by aligning them with calendar years.

Your eligibility is still based on your maintenance expiration date, not the version number itself.

Royal Connect Mobile is part of the new Royal Connect product line and is being rebuilt as a native mobile app for:

Royal Connect Mobile will be free of charge and does not require a Desktop or Server license.
Existing customers with active maintenance are fully protected.
